Booking Process

  • Once you have received a personal quote, cancellation conditions, refund policy, full detailed itinerary and all contact details. Once we have answered all your questions, you can then choose to go ahead with your booking.
  • In most cases we do not require a deposit to retain your booking refer payment process. Full payment is required latest 28-14 days prior to date of arrival and is non refundable after payment: refer to cancellation conditions & refund policy In order to make a reservation through our website you will be provided with 2 payment options. Payment either by by credit card charged in Australian dollars or by direct bank deposit transfer payable in Australian Dollars or British Pounds (available only to Australian and British customers). Overseas cutomers may choose this option, but we must receive full payment, which means you have to pay for all bank charges incurred in transfer. All credit card payments will be processed via our secure payment gateway provided directly by our bank: credit card service charges to be paid by customer. 
  • Once payment has been received and processed we will forward you by email confirmation of booking, a detailed itinerary with a E VOUCHER containing booking details, cancellation conditions and “24 hour assist” contact names and phone numbers provided by your supplier in Sri Lanka. You will need to print all E VOUCHERS and take them with you on your trip. You will need to present E VOUCHERS to your accommodation/trip suppliers.

  • At no time does islanka.com share any credit card information or information of a personal nature with any third party other than your accommodation/trip supplier.

  • islanka.com acts as a facilitator, NOT as a travel agent, detailed in booking conditions, exclusions of liability & privacy and security statement between yourself and your accommodation/trip supplier. We charge a small facilitator service fee, which is already included in the price that is quote to you by your accommodation/trip supplier. In most cases we collect payment on behalf of your accommodation/trip supplier in Sri Lanka and payment is forwarded directly to your accommodation/trip supplier in Sri Lanka. If you decide for any reason to cancel your booking there will be cancellation charges as detailed in writing to you at the time of making enquiry and before making any payment refer to cancellation conditions & refund policy Simply speaking in most cases (not including private houses/villa’s refer payment process) due to our direct relationship with accommodation/trip supplier in Sri Lanka you will receive all your money back less administartive fees, if you cancel more than 28-14 days prior to date booking/arrival/commencement of tour. Please read specific cancellation conditions thoroughly, provided to you at time of making enquiry and before making any payment.

  • You are strongly recommended to take out comprehensive personal travel insurance at the time of booking for all members of your party. It is your responsibility to ensure that the insurance you purchase is adequate and appropriate for your particular needs. In some cases this insurance may cover non-refundable cancellation charges

Payment Process
  • In order to make a reservation through our website you will be provided with 2 payment options. Payment either by direct bank deposit transfer payable in Australian Dollars or by credit card charged in Australian dollars available to all customers. All credit card payments will be processed via our secure payment gateway provided directly by our bank. In all cases you will be provided with receipt/confirmation of payment by email, immediately after payment has been processed. We feel this is the most secure transaction process within the governing laws of Australia, rather than sending your personal details to all service providers who are in some cases located in very remote regions of Sri Lanka. No matter how secure technology may be it would be an impossible task to provide total security in regions where there is very little technology. That is why we prefer to process all transactions via our direct bank gateway within the governing laws of Australia and instruct our bank to forward your payment direct to your accommodation/trip supplier in Sri Lanka.
     
  • For all bookings in most cases NO DEPOSIT is required to retain your booking. Full payment is due latest 28-14 days prior to booking/arrival/commencement of tour. Payable by credit card charged in Australian dollars or by direct bank transfer (available only to Australian customers). Monies received into our account must be for at least the full amount payable. All bank charges will be your responsibility. You will be provided final confirmation of booking by email immediately after FULL payment has been received and processed direct from your accommodation/trip supplier via islanka.com in the form of an E VOUCHER. You will need to print all E VOUCHERS and take them with you on your trip. You will need to present E VOUCHERS to your accommodation/trip supplier. Credit card payments must be processed latest 28-14 days prior to booking/arrival/commencement of tour. Credit card payments attract a NON-REFUNDABLE service fee of 2-3% added. If a deposit is required final payment in some cases can be paid direct to accommodation/trip supplier in cash or by credit card, which may also attract a service fee in Sri Lanka, charged in Sri Lankan Rupees. You will be advised details at time of making initial enquiry and before making any payment.

  • All rates quoted will be in US dollars. All payments will be payable in Australian dollars or British Pounds based on "sell" rate quoted by "HSBC Bank" www.hsbc.com.au or www.hsbc.co.uk on date of invoice issue and is payable within 7 days of such issue date. Your quoted US dollar rate remains fixed and unchanged even if payment is not made within 7 days. We will gladly provide a revised Australian dollar rate when ever you decide to pay. You can request a revised rate stating your personal booking ID reference number. The currency converter provided on this site is for you convenience and provides indicative rates only. You must refer to www.hsbc.com.au or www.hsbc.co.uk for exact US dollar/Australian dollar or British Pound conversion rates.

  • In some cases relating to private houses/villas, during peak season (eg: Christmas and New Year period) with most other accommodation/trip suppliers and in some special cases FULL PAYMENT or DEPOSIT (10%-40%) is required to be paid to islanka.com on behalf of your accommodation/trip supplier in Sri Lanka 28-40 days before arrival and in some cases is NON-REFUNDABLE AND NON-TRANSFERABLE AFTER PAYMENT. You may also be required to post a cash, security deposit direct with your accommodation/trip supplier upon arrival or 28-40days before arrival.

Cancellation Conditions & Refund Policy

If you need to cancel or amend a booking it must be requested by email or fax directly with islanka.com Cancellation condition details are listed below and specific details will be provided to you again, at time of making initial enquiry and before making any payment.

In all cases unless otherwise stated at time of enquiry:

  • If cancellation is made more than 7 days prior to date of booking/arrival/commencement of tour
    full refund of deposit/total amount
  • If cancellation is made under 7 days (7 to 00 days) prior to date of booking/arrival/commencement of tour 100% of total payment will be non-refundable.
  • If cancellation is made after arrival or cutting short your stay, 100% of total payment will be non-refundable.

  • Groups, Tours & Special bookings require 28 days notice, as stated on E Invoice before making payment
  • IN ALL CASES all bookigs shall pay a non-refundable administrative charge of US$25.
  • IN ALL CASES credit card charges are non-refundable. Banks and credit card service providoers DO NOT refund their charges once payment is made.

In some cases:

  • Relating to private houses/villas, during peak season (eg: Christmas and New Year period) with most other accommodation/trip suppliers and in some special cases FULL PAYMENT or DEPOSIT (10%-40%) is required to be paid to islanka.com on behalf of your accommodation/trip supplier in Sri Lanka 28-40days before arrival and in some cases is NON-REFUNDABLE AND NON-TRANSFERABLE AFTER PAYMENT. You may also be required to post a cash, security deposit direct with your accommodation/trip supplier upon arrival or 28-40days before arrival.
    You will be advised at time of making initial enquiry and before making any payment.

In all cases:

  • Radio Cairo Pty Ltd T/A islanka.com does not accept any responsibility for the cancellation of your booking by your accommodation/trip supplier due to unforseen circumstances. If for any reason accommodation/trip is cancelled by your supplier, we will refund all monies paid or suggest a suitable alternative accommodation/trip, but at no time will Radio Cairo Pty Ltd T/A islanka.com be held responsible for any incidental expenses related to the cancellation of your accommodation/trip by your supplier. You are ultimately responsible the direct dealings with your supplier of accommodation/trip, once the introduction has been made. We will at all times endeavour to resolve any problems as a facilitator between you and your accommodation/trip supplier and to recover all monies paid and suggest an alternative.

  • You are strongly recommended to take out comprehensive personal travel insurance, at the time of booking, for all members of your party. It is your responsibility to ensure that the insurance you purchase is adequate and appropriate for your particular needs. In some cases this insurance may cover non-refundable charges.

  • We will at all times endeavour to resolve any problems as a facilitator between you and your accommodation/trip supplier, being licensed travel agent, registered hotel/villa or licensed tour operator in Sri Lanka. However Radio Cairo Pty Ltd T/A islanka.com does not accept responsibility of the accommodation or trips featured on the site. If during the course of the holiday you have any reason for complaint or dissatisfaction you should contact the hotel/villa manager or accommodation/trip suppliers in order that remedial action be taken. Details are provided on your E VOUCHER refer to booking conditions & exclusions of liability. You will also be provided with 24 hour assist contact numbers whilst in Sri Lanka provided by your supplier. Alternatively we can be reached direct from any hotel internet facility srian@islanka.com while in Sri Lanka or ask your service provider in Sri Lanka to contact us direct 61 425 287 059 (24 hours).
